The Big 500 CycleRide

The Big 500 Cycle Ride is four days, five hundred miles cycling in five countries in Europe.  This was a new Challenge for 2014 and a group of fourteen who undertook this had nothing but praise.  The dates for 2015 will be Wednesday 10th – Sunday 14th June.

A short itinerary is as follows:-

Day 1 (Wednesday): Liege to Cologne through Maastricht (90miles)

Day 2 (Thursday): Cologne to Luxembourg (115miles)

Day 3 (Friday): Luxembourg to Reims (135miles)

Day 4 (Saturday): Reims to Paris (110miles)

Day 5 (Sunday/Monday): Travel back to London Euston

The route puts the mileage slightly under 500 but this is significantly and logistically much better.

A quote from Ewan who took part said:  “The Big 500 was a fantastic challenge for anyone who loves cycling. ChallengeAid organised a brilliant trip with every small detail taken care of from the route we took, to the accommodation each night. I would thoroughly recommend The Big 500 to anyone who is looking for a challenge whilst raising some money for a fantastic cause.”
