Cambrian Mountains Trail Ride Challenge
The challenge will begin by riding through some of the small picturesque rural villages of West Wales and then down the beautiful Cothi Valley via forestry tracks and grassy lanes reaching an old drovers village pub. Here the group will stop at the hitching rail behind the pub for a ‘civilised’ lunch break.
After lunch the group will ride through the edge of the Dolaucothi Roman Gold mines and head back for a wonderful home-cooked supper and relaxing evening along a lower part of the Cothi Valley.
The following day the group will ride up to Llyn Y Gwaith lake via an old Roman road and forestry tracks stopping to have lunch by this romantic and enchanted lake. After lunch the group will then ride back down through the picturesque Twrch valley.
The riding takes place in some of the most glorious countryside in West Wales, along ancient Drovers tracks and forest pathways covering approximately 15 miles a day. Participants need to have some riding experience and ideally less than 15 stone. The riding, although all year round, is recommended between the months of March – November.
