Sue Campbell urges all UK Schools to sign up !
Schoolchildren for Children is an innovative concept which enables schools to raise funds through exercise for extra-curricular sporting activities in their schools while at the same time benefiting disadvantaged children worldwide.
Every school that signs up receives a free assembly style DVD with accompanying teacher’s notes. This resource pack is motivational, moving and informative. It tells you about the charity, the benefits of exercise and what life is like to grow up in an inner city slum in Africa.
Sue Campbell, Chair of Youth Sport Trust says:
“I have always believed that sport can help young people live healthy and active lives, which is why I support Schoolchildren for Children in their efforts to encourage our young people to take exercise in their schools. In short, I want them to be the best they can be and fulfil their true potential.
There are other benefits too. While taking exercise, they are raising money not only for their own schools but also for schools in poor countries. Our young people are therefore making a contribution to the lives of children overseas who come from deprived and different cultural backgrounds.
So this is a special opportunity to improve your PE department budget and encourage a spirit of global citizenship in your school.
Schoolchildren for Children aims to have a million children participating by the London Olympics in 2012. I urge every school in the UK to get behind this great initiative.”
