Welsh Three Peaks – Open Challenge 2016

Our Welsh Three Peaks Challenges are hugely popular having facilitated four groups last year.  The dates this year are as follows:-

Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th June

Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th June.

This Challenge takes in the three peaks of Wales, Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in the North, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales, and Pen y Fan in the South. Whilst Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan are much lower, and are chosen for their position rather than height.  The aim is to climb the mountains and travel between dawn and dusk.

The ascent of Pen-y-Fan would normally commence at 05.00hrs and the descent of Snowdon completed by 20.00hrs. Having completed the Challenge, the group will stay overnight in a hotel in Llanberis enjoying a celebratory team meal before returning to South Wales if applicable and dispersing the following morning. Or we can make arrangements to travel to Llanberis on the Friday and climb the peaks in reverse order on the Saturday.

Participants in the Challenge need to be well prepared and in good physical shape though no previous climbing experience is essential.

We can arrange the Challenge for your group on a date that specifically suits your schedule. Please apply for more details and a more precise itinerary.
