Boys Take Responsibility Club

The Boys Club initiative, launched in July 2021 across all Schools of Hope, aims to empower young individuals, particularly those facing adversities, to realise their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide crucial guidance and support, fostering the growth of these boys into confident and capable adults within society.

Growing up in slums exposes boys to a myriad of challenges such as limited educational opportunities, involvement in violence and crime, absence of positive role models, substance abuse, health issues, and limited employment prospects. The Boys Clubs, formed within our Schools of Hope, serve as a community where boys gather for sessions to discuss these challenges and explore ways to address them. These clubs offer emotional and psychological support, facilitate personal and social development, provide academic guidance and motivation, and above all, create an open and safe space for boys to share their concerns and aspirations within a supportive group. Our overarching goal is to empower these boys and contribute to the construction of a brighter future for them.

Effectively addressing these challenges necessitates a comprehensive approach, involving improvements in access to quality education, healthcare, safe environments, and socio-economic opportunities. Empowering boys through mentorship programs, vocational training, and community initiatives becomes pivotal in helping them overcome obstacles and forging a path towards a brighter future.

Recently, our Boys Clubs have actively participated in community clean-ups and tree planting initiatives. The boys have taken to the streets, clearing rubbish, unblocking sewage drains, and contributing to the betterment of the community. By planting trees, they not only enhance the environment but also work towards a greener future. The hope is that these activities instil a sense of community and camaraderie among the boys while simultaneously fostering a more sustainable future for themselves and their community.
