Mathare’s Got Talent!

In the photo below, students from the 4B School of Hope in Nairobi are having a briefing about Mathare’s Got Talent, which will be held on November 22nd. They can participate in a range of categories, including stand-up comedy, choir singing, traditional dancing, modelling, acrobatics and artwork. Good luck, everyone!  

Revision Under the Table!

When the supervisor did a head count at the Burka School of Hope yesterday, there was one girl missing, nowhere to be found… They eventually found her under the table, totally engrossed in her revision!

Transformative Results in Kiranyi

First Challenge Completed for the Mamadoo Walkers & Friends

  The Mamadoo Walkers & Friends have completed their first challenge: a half marathon power walk! In the upcoming months, they will be completing a series of physical challenges to raise £6000 to build a new School of Hope.     

A Successful Lunch with Nigel Owens and John Inverdale!

  Thank you to everyone who came to the lunch yesterday with Nigel Owens MBE and John Inverdale.  Also, a big thank you to the Mercer for the delicious food!  The event was a huge success, and the funds raised will help us to create more Schools of Hope.

A Friendly Football Match

Girls and boys from the Kambirwa School of Hope played a friendly football match against a local elite school. Everyone had a great time!

In the Kosovo School of Hope in Nairobi, 18 boys and girls discussed the concept of “taking charge of one’s life”.  Sophia from ChallengeAid Africa educated the group of pre-teens about the dangers of teenage sex. In 2017, research found that teenage pregnancy was one of the leading causes of girls dropping out of school.
