iPad Tablets

Supervisors from 18 Schools of Hope at a meeting yesterday learning about the use of the iPad learning tablets. This is the second stage of the roll out of the tablets and although only providing a few to each SoH, it is a significant step forward in the development of ChallengeAid.

New SoH in Mukuru

A good meeting with True Vine SoH in Mukuru in partnership with CUM. It started in January and already has 67 pupils and the numbers are growing rapidly. They have already had 4 life skill, football and rugby sessions.

Sunday Life Skills Session

Sunday is often a good opportunity for life skills. Seventy people attended a session at Kiamutisya SoH in Mathare, Nairobi warning against substance abuse and the eventual dependency and almost inevitable personal, financial & moral consequences that dependency brings with it.   

Good News !

Good News Kiranyi SoH in Tanzania is doing so well that the seating was inadequate.  We can now sit over 60 pupils in a shift and sometimes there are three shifts a day.

‘Time to go home’

Problems !?!? The learners at Burka in Arusha have become too fond of spending time revising & studying at the SoH ! The headmaster says the pupils have to be asked & almost encouraged to go home at the end of each day !!!!

Tumaini School of Hope

A life skills session was held recently at Tumaini SoH in the informal settlement of Gituamba on self-worth, self- respect and citizenship. The session was facilitated by the Centre for Urban Mission.
