Sad News

We have just learnt that Stephen, a 17 year old student from Njangwani School of Hope was shot dead during demonstrations in Mathare and was buried this weekend. We extend sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Training Day at a School of Hope

Sophia Kamweru, ChallengeAid Africa had a training day with the Kiandutu School of Hope supervisors and committee and also delivered some text books. The group hosting the SoH is Muungano wa Wanaviji (Federation of Slum Dwellers). There are eight supervisors and the group has provided basic furniture for the SoH.

Inter-School Sports

There have also been inter-school competitions between Majengo and Jangwani Schools of Hope which is in the Mathare cluster of Nairobi. The field was very muddy but the students had a good day with a hearty meal being enjoyed after the games.
